Things Have Really Changed

Published by amelia23 at 3:06 am under Uncategorized Edit This

Saturday, I was busy on the computer writing articles while my daughter decided to watch cartoons.  I wasn’t listening at all to what was being said, but suddenly the “B” word came through loud and clear.  I asked her if I had heard right, if they said a bad word and she said that they had.  I told her to switch the channel.  She got a little mad at me because of that.  I simply said that I didn’t like that word and I certainly didn’t like that word on a cartoon.  After a while, she reminded me that my shows have bad words in them, like Ice Road Truckers.  I tried explaining that while Ice Road Truckers and Deadliest Catch do, and even then it is not very often, those are grown men on the job and they are not trying to entertain the young people.  Cartoons on the cartoon channels are and they should not have such words on them.  Or if they feel the need to have those words, they should censor them out.  I am noticing more and more bad words coming across the airwaves though.  Words that were always beeped out are now coming through undeleted.  These are words that I do not use and don’t even think about, even though I do swear on occasion.

Times have really changed.  I like to watch Spongebob Squarepants.  Some other ones on the cartoon channel is I Carley, and George Lopez.  Fom the Food network I like Paula Deen and the Next Food Network Star.  And for spiritual fulfillment I like Joel Osteen.  I rarely watch the news except now that Michael Jackson died.  Even in death, he can’t have any rest.  I find it hard to believe that the family won’t bury him.  And now the tapes and drugs that were in his house and little black bag are gone.  If the police knew they were there, why didn’t they take them first time out?  And now those poor kids.  There is just too much stuff coming out about him and it is dragging out.  Maybe it is a money ploy like the news people are saying.  What else could it be?
